Our office in Omaha has year-round volunteer opportunities. We rely heavily on volunteers to carry out all of our activities and programs. The following is a description of volunteer opportunities that are currently available.
This program is the backbone of the entire organization. Volunteers are interviewed and matched with elderly friends with whom they have something in common. Volunteers visit their old friends on a regular basis with the goal of developing genuine, lasting relationships. Once this relationship is underway, it often takes on many forms of friendship such as good conversation, shared meals, and social activities.
Our volunteers are asked to visit 3-4 times a month and make a minimum one-year commitment to the Visiting Volunteer program. This maintains consistency and quality for our elderly friends.
Little Brothers in Omaha hosts a Christmas party for isolated elders in the area. Each party requires planning, set-up, cooks, servers, clean-up, and people to socialize with our elderly friends. Volunteers are needed in each of these areas.

Each time we host a party for our elderly friends we need drivers to transport them to and from the party site. The drivers stay at the party to eat with and socialize with the elders. When the music and entertainment end, the drivers take the old friends back home.
We are always looking for volunteers with special talents to donate their talent at our Christmas parties. We welcome talented musicians and singers who would like to share their gift with our elderly friends.
Volunteers are needed to help with mailings, wrap gifts at the holidays, make phone calls to elders, and help with other miscellaneous tasks.
